A physician must certify that an individual is eligible to receive hospice services.

The St. Francis Hospice program is a Medicare/Medicaid certified hospice program. Both Medicare and Medicaid will cover the cost of hospice professional services, medications related to the terminal illness as well as supplies and equipment necessary to provide care in a home setting. Many private insurances reimburse all or part of the cost of home hospice care. Room and board care and hospitality care may not be a covered benefit.
